Image 1 shows an image of a building with roof. A portion of the roof is highlighted in red and selected. The selected portion of the roof is displayed at the right as image 2. Image 2 shows an enlarged version of the selected portion with a lower quality that shows blotches. Note: Notice the noise artifacts at high contrast areas and in areas of flat color.
