Pixel matrix 1: The pixel matrix is titled Pixels in original image. It has 16 square tiles arranged in 4 rows and 4 columns, each showing different colors. Row 1: White, White, Cream, Light Brown. Row 2: White, Cream, Light Brown, Brown. Row 3: Cream, Light Brown, Brown, Dark Brown. Row 4: Light Brown, Brown, Dark Brown, Dark Brown.

Pixel matrix 2: The pixel matrix is labeled Pixels as displayed on low-density device. It shows the same block as seen in pixel matrix 1. Note: Notice that image pixels are mapped 1 is to 1 onto C S S pixels and onto low-density device pixels.

Pixel matrix 3: The pixel matrix is labeled Pixels in high-density device open parenthesis with double the number of pixels per inch close parenthesis. It has 64 square tiles arranged in 8 rows and 8 columns, each showing different colors. Rows 1 and 2: White, White, White, White, Cream, Cream, Light Brown, Light Brown. Row 3 and Row 4: White, White, Cream, Cream, Light Brown, Light Brown, Brown, Brown. Rows 5 and 6: Cream, Cream, Light Brown, Light Brown, Brown, Brown, Dark Brown, Dark Brown. Rows 7 and 8: Light Brown, Light Brown, Brown, Brown, Dark Brown, Dark Brown, Dark Brown, Dark Brown. Note: Notice that the pixels are smaller in the high-density display. The image pixels open parenthesis as well as C S S pixels close parenthesis have to be mapped by the device onto the appropriate number of device pixels.
