Tier 1 networks are global network providers. Tier 1 networks do not pay to access other Tier 1 networks; this is called a peering relationship. The four peers in Tier 1 networks are labeled I S P capital "A", I S P capital B, I S P capital C and I S P capital D. The six peers in Tier 2 networks are labeled I S P c, I S P d, I S P e, I S P m , I S P n , and I S P o. The internet exchange points (I X P) peer with I S P n , and I S P o. Many of the largest content providers such as Google, FaceBook, and Akami bypass Tier 1 Network transit costs by peering directly with other I S Ps within Internet Exchange Points. Internet Users are Networks, businesses, consumers, and smaller I S Ps. Internet users have to pay their I S Ps for access ( buying transit ) to the rest of internet.
