The figure illustrates network infrastructure in two maps. The second map is blown up of a part of first map.

First map: Two types of lines connect the network across various countries. The pink line is labeled Tier 1 network "A" and yellow line is labeled Tier 1 network B . Tier 1 networks can reach any other Tier 1 network on the planet without paying for the privilege. Tier 1 networks peer with one another, meaning they interconnect directly with each other at no additional cost. Each Tier 1 network has its own network of connected I S P and regional networks.

Second map: In addition to two types of Tier 1 lines, a third line labeled Tier 2 regional network line connect the network across various countries. The 100 G fibre optic cable is connected under ocean in the Tier 1 network "A". The Tier 2 regional network is connected by O C–48 Fibre Optic Cable.
