In this illustration, an Internet signal is sent to the Cable Head End, where a router directs it into a server and also directs it to the cable modem termination system (CMTS). The CMTS sends the signal to two different Fiber Nodes via fiber cable. From the Fiber Nodes, the signal is sent via coaxial cable to hundreds of homes.
