There are four vertical blocks connected to a common network. The first block has four partitions from top to bottom and is labeled Application, Middleware, Windows, and Intel x 86. The second block has four partitions from top to bottom and is labeled Application, Middleware, Linux, and Intel x 86. The third block has four partitions from top to bottom and is labeled Application, Middleware, Solaris, and SPARC. The fourth block has four partitions from top to bottom and is labeled Application, Middleware, Mac O S, and Macintosh. There is a common horizontal highlighted layer between all four blocks in between Applications and Middleware and the layer is labeled Common base for applications.
