Part (a): The first horizontal block labeled Flash Translation Layer (FTL). An arrow labeled "Secret sauce" on top of the block. This block is connected with a vertical line to a second block labeled Memory placed at bottom of the first block. There are eight blocks labeled FP placed four at the top and parallel to the first block. The other four blocks are placed at the bottom and parallel to the second block. A horizontal line from the vertical line with all eight blocks is connected. Part (b): A large rectangular block has two dotted rectangular blocks labeled die 0 and die 1 inside it. There are m vertical blocks labeled plane 0, plane 1, and up to plane m inside both blocks, arranged side by side. In every vertical block, there are several blocks labeled block 0, block 1, and up to block n corresponding to pages labeled Page 0 to page n in every block.
