Overcoming Binge Eating is a book for people with binge eating problems, and it has been written with their help. I therefore want to start by thanking those patients and volunteers who commented on early versions of the book and tested out the self-help program. Their contributions were invaluable. In addition, I want to thank the friends and colleagues who helped me create the forerunner of the present book.
